I SEE YOUR NAME IN LIGHTS , we can make you a star.
the ice tea was good. the veggie burger was okay. the atmosphere was great. katerina loved listening to the locals speak. it was calming to her. katerina looked up from her book. the were about ten other people in the cafe. none of which she recognized. school was getting hard to get through. katerina didn't feel like many friends , she was busy enough as is. her dance classes were at the end of the day , which was what she wanted. school had just let out and she was stretched out from dance. katina , as her family called her , pulled off the cream colored cardigan to reveal a petite frame draped in a sky blue and white plaid dress. from the window that she sat by , katina looked out the window. it was a fair day out. russia was normally chilly for her , especially since she was used warm , sunny beach. katina missed the beaches , the old towns , and everything else about greece , but this is where she needed to be.
a waitress then walked by , refilling her glass and taking the plate. katerina finished that glass of tea before returning to her book. the waitress returned quickly asking in heavily accented english if there was anything else. "a coffee cake please." katina said with her lyrical greek accent. she loved cakes , but not coffee. when katina turned down the coffee , the waitress seemed baffled. just a little while longer she sat. just time to relax.

` i've been on my own too long Sebastian had landed a job at Belinda's Cafe so he could have some extra funds while in Russia. He was almost a half a world away from his parent's, the farm, and Kansas, but everything about Derbent, Russia seemed so homey and comforting. In fact, it actually felt like he had lived here is whole life.
His shift was almost over when, while standing off in the distance, he noticed a petite female sitting contently in a window seat reading a novel. She was pretty; and Sebastian couldn't get enough of the way here brunette hair fell softly around her face, framing it neatly.
The sun shone through the white-framed glass window and gave a heavenly and translucent effect on the atmosphere of the small, quaint cafe. But not matter how pretty or gorgeous the atmosphere was, Sebastian's eyes kept gazing off to the female figure sitting silently reading. His mind raced with ways he could get up the courage to speak to her. Of course, no matter what he did, his shyness was going to hold him back.
"Woodsen! Sebastian jolted his head quickly towards the voice. A plump man wearing a crisp, white shirt was pointing to him. "Get back to work!"
Sebastian nodded his head and resumed his place behind the cash register. Then it occured to him; the mystery girl would need to pay for her cake and he was the only register open. Smiling to himself, he rang up an eldery couple that was ordering brunch.

katina finished a chapter and the cake. then she looked around the room. the whole cafe was calm and light. it was a beautiful sight. wrapping her cardigan around her , she called the waitress back over for the ticket. at the moment she heard a deep , booming voice yell. it was a worker yelling at his employee to get to work. when the waitress gave her the ticket , she stood to pay. the price was decent and she could afford it.
katina felt bad , for the past few weeks she needed to email her family and had to ask for money. a job was needed and quickly. grabbing her purse , she gracefully walked to the cashier. the worker that had been yelled at moments earlier had now taken his spot at the register. katina recognized him from school. she knew he was older and she didn't have classes with him. the only time she saw him would be walking through the halls.
once she got to the cash register , katina handed the ticket to the worker. then she looked through her purse to find the cash. pulling out a small black wallet she handed the money. "here you go."
katina said with a bright smile. adjusting her posture , katina cocked her head shyly. tagged sebastian woodsen. words count two hundred twenty. outfit xoxo. lyrics dear maria , count me in » all time low. notes c:

` i've been on my own too long After taking another young woman's order, Sebastian allowed his eyes to gaze indirectly in the direction of the female. He smiled as she read quietly by herself. He wished he could muster up enough courage to go over there and talk to her.
"Woodsen, stop daydreaming!" His boss said through his teeth.
"Sorry, Mr. Thompson." Sebastian had been in Derbent for less than three weeks and already a strong Russian accent had replaced his old, Midwestern one.
He his head back to the young female who was now standing up from her chair. Gracefully, she began to walk towards the register, and him.
'Shit, shit, shit, shit! She's coming this way. Stay calm, stay calm.' Sebastian coached himself.
She was now directly in front on him. "Here your go."
Then something hit him. It was the familiarness of the young female. Sebastian had sworn that he had seen her before, wandering the halls at Bolstov.
"Thanks," he said snapping out of his thinking mode as he took the cash she had presented him. "Wait, I'm sorry if I seem presumptuous, but haven't I seen you before?"

katina stared at him as he took the money. it was obvious that he was thinking. 'i wonder what he could be thinking of ...'
then suddenly he asked if he had ever seen her before. katina couldn't help but utter a small , delicate giggle. his voice was laced with a russian accent. "if you go to bolstov academy , then there is a very good chance that we have passed each other in the hallways." the freshman said with her greek accent. even though she had been here for a month , her accent would never change. katina refused to talk with a russian accent. katina then lost her smile for a brief moment and blushed. she truly hadn't spoken to a student at bolstov. there was the occasion when her biology teacher stuck them in group , but that was the only time. gaining her smile once again , katina reached across the counter , holding her hand out for him to shake. "my name is katerina artino , but please call me katina." this was a huge step for her and it made her blush go from a rosy pink to cherry red. this was embarrassing for her. she hated blushing. Sebastian stiffled a grin as his cheeks turned pink, although you couldn't tell under his tanned skin. Her voice was soft and a hint of a Mediterranean accent could be heard, although he couldn't tell quite what country it was."I bet that's where I've seen you before then," he said trying not to sound to anxious in this conversation. After all, he might scare her away if he seemed to be interested.
"My name is Katerina Artino, but please call me Katina."
A pale, delicate looking hand extended itself over the cash register and Sebastian was reluctant to finish the greeting. Instead, he just smiled a flashy smile, hoping that would make up for it. "Sebastian, just Sebastian." He looked to her. Her beauty was even more breathtaking up close than across the dimly lit cafe he called work.
"Woodsen! Your shift's over!" The employer shouted to him with a thick Boston accent. It was obvious that his mother, Belinda, was from America and not Derbent.
"I guess I should be getitng back to Bolstov," he lied. "I've got a fews tests I need to study for."

katina was quite surprised when the young man did not take her hand , so she brought it back beside her waist. 'sebastian, just sebastian.'
he told her. it was a very unique name. suddenly , the round manager hollered at sebastian. the fellow student had just finished his shift. at this point , katerina , moved over to the side so sebastian would be able to get out from the counter. 'i guess i should be getting back to bolstov , i've got a fews tests i need to study for.' this brought a huge smile to katina's face. she wanted to start rambling on about how hard some of the tests here at bolstov were , and those were just pre-test to see where students ranked. then she looked up at sebastian. for some reason , she wanted to stick around this guy. "you know , i need to do a little mandarin studying. maybe we could study with each other." her voice was barely above a whisper when she mentioned the idea. part of her wanted him to hear and accept. the other part just wanted him to not hear and say goodbye. katina's face , then becaming a pretty shade of pink on her face. she was looking down at her feet , like a small child. ` i've been on my own too long "You know, I need to do a little mandarin studying. Maybe we could study with each other."
Secretly, a part of Sebastian wanted to accept his new friend's invitation; the other, bigger part, didn't feel so comfortable with that notion. Then, he realized the she wanted help studying mandrin. Sebastian did not know even a smidgen of mandrin, or any other Asian language for that matter. "Well," Sebastian began calmy, not showing any emotion in his face, "you see Katina, I don't know a lick a mandrin. I wouldn't be of any help to you."
Sebastian smiled mischeviously at the young girl. "So then I guess we'll be parting ways." Sebastian turned around to hang up his work apron and the appropiote hook labeled 'S. Woodsen'. Then he turned back around to face Katina. He sighed, looking to her. "I'll be seeing you around then." He nodded his head in her direction, as congenial as one could. Then he turned to his irate boss and, trying not to get even more on his mean side, announced that he was punching out. "See ya around, Katina," he grinned and left the small shop.
